So I didn't actually do as much in the way of guest-meeting this time out. So, this is more a general 'what I did' thing that's probably not really of much interest to anyone. Yay!

Incidentally, my days from from when I get up to when I go to bed, hence the slightly odd dating rules.

I'm going to admit that I just missed the entire first morning of the Hub3 convention because I had a horrible horrible attack of insomnia last night and didn't fall asleep until gone 5am. Thus, when I dragged myself out of bed at 9am, I felt like absolute shit. I wound up going back to my room, sticking the 'do not disturb' sign on the door and napping for a couple of hours. I still feel a bit ropey.

So, logically, I hit up the hotel's net-cafe to post on LJ. How sad, I know. ;)

But then, given that, really, the only 'big' guest is Gareth David-Lloyd, I'm not really missing much by not running around for autographs.

The hotel charges too damned much for coffee, tho'. Only got chatting to one (very lovely!) person so far. I think I'm a bit too much of a wallflower for these 'social gatherings'. :D Does amuse me that the Hilton stuck the strange scifi people at the faaaar end of the hotel to keep us out of the way.

So, I managed to kill my phone stone dead the other day (I've dropped my phone several times before with no ill effect - I'm guessing that this was the impact that shattered the camel's kneecaps, to muddle with a metaphor). If any of you happen to have my phone number and are in contact with me, could you please send me a text with your name in it so I can rebuild my contact list?

Ta muchly.

At least I managed to put my Portal ringtone back. I love that thing. Although it's actually just an mp3 file, and last time I had my ipod on random and was on a long-distance car trip, it hit that track in the playlist and startled the crap out of me. :3

Hub3 tomorrow. With my 'meh' feeling towards TW these days, if I hadn't already paid for it, I probably wouldn't be going. But it will be nice to see if I can recognise anyone from the previous Hub convention, and I'm determined to have a good time or, at least, prop up the bar in the strong tradition of scifi conventions. This time, at least, I'm in the same hotel, so I'm actually allowed to drink, as opposed to needing to drive back to a separate hotel like last time.

Back from the con and the first thing I had to do was have a shower and scrub thoroughly. Feeling that convention funk. If I want to disgust you all, I'll post pictures of my shower in the hotel.

One additional thing, an open memo to my TomTom:

You useless whore! WHERE WERE YOU WHEN I NEEDED YOU???

Don't ask. Just... don't.

Sixteen minutes left on my net time on the hotel network so let's make this quick.

I'm sitting in the bar with a cup of coffee looking at the huge queue for the next hub tickets. I'm in two minds as to whether to join them but for now I'll just hang out with my coffee and ereader. And iPod.

I've got to get the photos and stuff that I missed yesterday. Had a panic this morning. I couldn't find my prescription sunglasses. This is a few days after I'd managed to leave them in my front garden for a week. Fortunately someone had handed them in. Phew!

Funniest moment of last night? The women in the bar standing five deep around Matt Rippy, Kai Owen and Phil Ford. :D

Gareth David-Lloyd and Matt Rippy were snogging on stage and I missed it. I'm sure there will be photos. But I was in the "intimate encounter" with Tom Price who I newly adore. I must make time to go to one of his gigs.

I'm getting picked on for posting between talks. :p

Well, I'm in my room which is ok if you don't mind the filthy shower and the smell. I think I shall be heading back after only two nights instead of all three. And I seem to be on the main road. Worst bit is that I have to drive to and from the con so no drinking. :(

The hub so far is good. Met a few people but won't remember their names in the morning. The night's greatest disappointment? Only one person recognized my lj name. But they'd never actually read my journal. Woe.

Writing this on my iPod touch so god knows when it'll get posted. Almost makes me want to buy an iPhone. Almost.

Next morning:
Dude. The hotel has wifi. Score.

The Breakfast is £15 so no.
