So what have I been up to lately...?
Spoilers abound.
I'm firmly in the headbashing 'gah, what do I write' stage. This is my first time seriously attempting NaNo, and I'm fiercely resisting the urge to chuck it all and start over. Attempts to write are not helped by being stuck on a week's worth of nightshifts, where my only writing time is between 2 and 5am, as long as nothing has broken (as it has the last couple of nights).
C'mon girl, suck it up.
The characterisation seems to be firmly resting in series 1, ignoring a lot of the development there, but I'm honestly not minding. The most recent two-part episode was, to me, delightful. It was funny, neatly scripted, let Tony Head show why exactly he's an awesome comic actor, had a fabulous guest star in Sarah Parrish, and had neat little moments of trust that indicated they /hadn't/ forgotten the events of last year.
Basically, I think that Merlin is more or less starting to hit its stride. A few things about the year so far haven't been great ("Hello, we're Druids, mighty users of magic... except when we need to save our own lives, then we just scream like Generic Villagers #1-13 and run and die"), but, overall, I'm liking it.
Oh, SPN. For being one of the few shows around that's not afraid to take the piss out of itself and its stars, I do love you. Just watched 508. I can't help but feel that the whole soap opera thing (apart from letting Dean fanboy in a scene which was probably inserted for the explicit purpose of letting the non-shippers think was fanboyism and letting the slashers think that he's crushing) might just be a bit of an acknowledgement that the whole series is revolving around the most fucked up and cosmic family row in the history of everything.
And, for the record, that Japanese gameshow? Coulda been waaaay crueler. The Japanese are strange like that. x.x
And yes, I realise I did just say that using a Eastern-style emoticon. Damned FFXI.

And Chloe, I take it you've been taking Chessmaster classes at night school?
Not really being very memorable this year. Although I may just be watching for the cuteness that is Michael Weatherly and the adorableness that is Paulie Perette.
